Why The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest Stands Out

Three years ago, my team and I had an idea for a new kind of screenwriting contest. We called it The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest, and in it, we:

  • Provide a logline from a Industry Insider
  • Ask screenwriters to submit a 15-page spec screenplay based on that logline
  • Mentor the top ten screenwriters through 120 pages with one scribe winning the ultimate one-on-one Hollywood lunch with an Industry Insider

Since then, thousands of screenplays have been submitted.  Many participants have secured representation, and the winner of our last round, Tyler Marceca (The Disciple Program), is in development at Universal Studios with Mark Wahlberg attached to star and produce.

From Simon Kinberg to Susannah Grant, The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest has partnered with some of Hollywood’s most talented screenwriters and producers to create unmatched opportunity to break into the Industry.  Our current contest features Oscar-winning producer Edward Saxon, who has provided one of our best loglines to date:

“After a storm destroys her small farm, killing her mother and father, an adolescent girl is sent off on a journey of survival.”

If you’re serious about breaking into the Industry and are looking for the fastest possible path, I strongly recommend you enter The Industry Insider Screenwriting Contest.  All it takes to get started on your road to success is 15 pages based on Edward Saxon’s logline.

If you have any questions about the contest or would like to learn more, visit WritersStore.com or give us a call at 800.272.8927.
